SAP C_DBADM real exam prep : SAP Certified - Database Administrator - SAP HANA

A logistics provider runs both SAP HANA Cloud and an on-premises SAP HANA system. During a morning maintenance task, an administrator confirms that core services are up, but application teams still cannot complete their validation checks against one database. Monitoring shows the overall instance is reachable, yet the affected database remains unavailable for the expected operational task.
A second administrator suggests restarting the full instance to clear the condition before the business window opens. The operations manager wants the smallest valid action that restores the database and avoids unnecessary impact on healthy components in the same landscape.
Which action is the best choice?

• A. rigger an immediate backup so the database state is protected before any administration action is taken.
• B. hift all validation activity to the cloud landscape and delay action on the unavailable database until the next maintenance cycle.
• C. alidate the state of the specific database and start or reactivate only that database component instead of restarting the whole instance.
• D. estart the full SAP HANA instance because a service-level reset is the fastest universal way to restore database access.

CHALLENGE 1 — First Close Configuration Traceability During first close rehearsal, claims analytics reports load successfully from the upgraded SAP HANA system. The final administration record does not show whether the post-upgrade configuration adjustment was active during the rehearsal. What should the administrator do before accepting the close reporting evidence?

• A. econcile the active configuration state with the final administration record before sign-off.
• B. pply the SAP HANA Cloud setting to the upgraded system to standardize the landscape.
• C. ccept the evidence because successful report loading confirms close readiness.
• D. emove the configuration adjustment from the review because reports loaded successfully.

CHALLENGE 1 — Supplier Allocation Readiness for Shared Material Demand A plant buyer argues that urgent materials should allow local supplier substitution whenever the expected allocation pattern does not appear quickly enough during rehearsal. The cutover office is concerned that this approach will create unpredictable post-go-live support demands. Which decision is most appropriate?

• A. ause all supplier-allocation validation until the legacy system is fully shut down
• B. emove shared-demand materials from rehearsal scope and validate only plant-specific items
• C. reserve centrally governed allocation behavior and confirm whether shared-demand materials enter purchasing execution with aligned sourcing assumptions
• D. ermit local supplier substitution for all urgent materials because speed is more important during rehearsal

A regional beverage distributor is preparing an SAP HANA installation acceptance activity for a new on-premises reporting database. The database installation finishes without error, and SAP HANA cockpit shows the system as available. During acceptance review, the administrator notices that the installed database was recorded against the correct host group, but the lifecycle worksheet still lists the previous software package reference from an earlier rehearsal. The deployment lead wants to approve acceptance because the running database is accessible.
The constraint is that the administrator must prove the accepted installation record matches the actual installed lifecycle state. Approval cannot rely only on runtime availability when the lifecycle reference in the worksheet is inconsistent.
Which action best resolves the installation acceptance gap?

• A. eep the earlier package reference because it belongs to the same installation rehearsal sequence.
• B. eplace the lifecycle worksheet reference with the actual installed package evidence, validate the acceptance record, and approve only after the worksheet matches the system state.
• C. pprove the installation because SAP HANA cockpit shows the database as available and the installation completed without error.
• D. estart the database so SAP HANA cockpit can refresh the package information shown in the acceptance worksheet.

CHALLENGE 2 — Mixed Landscape Administration Boundary The operations lead reviews the mixed SAP HANA landscape and sees three evidence sets: on-premises availability after upgrade, cloud database provisioning, and planned reporting transition scope. Which sequence best supports transition planning?

• A. se only the cloud provisioning record because the future reporting workload will not remain on-premises.
• B. pprove transition scope first, then complete cloud validation during the first reporting execution.
• C. alidate on-premises operations, validate cloud administration state separately, then approve the reporting transition scope.
• D. reat provisioning as the final cloud validation step, then approve reporting movement based on on-premises availability.
